The CPU, and the dustpile.
This is another worrying sight. The Processor chip has a heatsink and fan on it to keep it cool. A hot processor makes mistakes and can damage itself. This heatsink hasn’t cooled properly in a while. All the fins are choked, and the fan really has been moving very little air.
After cleaning. Excuse the flash…but it’s a very shiny heatsink. You can see down the fins, and they are clear. This is how it should be.
Another view of the sink from the side. You can see how deep these things are. You can also see right through it, so thats great news. This is ready to be refitted.
Finally..this is the dustpile left after cleaning the entire PC…well worth doing, I’d say..:) Scary. This PC will be much happier now!
