This car is my mothers car, included in here for completeness. Not a car I’ve had much call to work on to be honest, despite it doing a high weekly mileage.

Standard Ford – Nothing thrilling, nothing stunningly good, or stunningly bad. It’s been fairly reliable apart from a dodgy cold start injector that randomly causes the engine to fail to fire up from cold. The fix for that is to pull the fuelpump fuse out and turn the engine over until it fires and burns the excess off, at which point it dies, you re-install the fuse, and it goes fine.

What do Ford have to say? “New engine”. Sod that. Its only an old Kent crossflow with Injection bolted on…it’ll run till doomsday.

Rust is coming as standard, but welding is cheap..;) The windscreen isn’t cracked as such-more a case of the lower right corner being a totally seperate square of glass. Hasn’t dropped out yet though.

As you can see, my mother likes Fiestas…the first picture was taken in the mid 80′s, and is now digitised for posterity. The second one was taken on christmas day, which is as far as I’m going to explain the tinsel!

Current Fiesta

Unfortunatly, Ford’s do not seem to last well, and The M reg failed it’s MOT on a lot. So, it’s been scrapped and the mechanic that looks after mums cars is transferring bits over to a Zetec Fiesta he’s building.
