Eek.

My laptop is setting fire to my leg. It’s warm, and even more damningly it’s warm, AND damp, AND sticky. The weather that is, not my leg. Almost sounds like I wet myself..oops.

How can a P3/600 kick out so much heat?!?

We’ve had weather like this for the last 3 days or so..warm, still, damp…the air feels..heavy? Dense. Cloying almost. Last night there was a few lightning strikes, including one that came out of nowhere, lit up the house silently and then literally rattled the windows with the CRACK of lightning earthing close-by. So close we could hear the sizzling, and the secondary explosion of whatever it hit.

Even the guinea pigs are subdued. They just sit huddled together quietly under their wooden shelf. Hopefully the pressure buggers off soon. It’s playing silly with the wireless network, and with ITV on Freeview.

Why oh why is Splodge eating the doorframe…? I swear that bird has a tinier brain than normal sometimes. He’s ignoring me! Git. Ah well.

Has anyone noticed how desperate companies are to sell crap? “Buy our new toothbrush with unique rubber stimulators and crossed bristles”….”buy our new vibrating Razor for a great shave”..etc, etc. Daft. If I wanted something that vibrated or had rubber stimulators, I’d got to www.comeundone.co.uk, and buy something to do it properly! Heh.

Still recovering from the babysitting, and the arriving back here dead on our feet at 2am. I had a head full of cotton wool on Sunday, no balance, and my temperature was up and down like a gooseberry on a bungee jump. I still feel a bit iffy now. Getting old, Karl.

Little children scare me less now. Having to catch and restrain them, getting dribbled on, sat on, gibbered at, hugged…it got easier..:) Still a hard job though!

Speaking of hard jobs, it was the Professional Development day at work today. The staff “Prep Day” before the kids come back. And what happened? Staff came in and whinged that things hadn’t been done/weren’t as they liked/they’d forgotten their passwords/the holidays were too short. Well, oh dear. I’ve worked the break, and worked damned hard. If you want things doing, try not pissing off on holidays and putting in the effort.

The kids start back tomorrow, so I expect to see a lot of Year 7′s all looking lost and worried, and I expect to need to smile a lot and be nice. I enjoy it..:)

According to the Newspaper, MCS has gone from being one of the weakest “failing schools” in the Borough of Telford and Wrekin, to being one of the best. We’ve had a 54% GCSE pass rate. One of our students has got 9 A*’s and 5 A grades in her GCSE’s. I doubt she’ll read this, but GOOD JOB Hannah!

All I have to say is..we rule..;)

I also got paid a compliment…the head had visitors, and saw me. He said that Luke Gosling, a now Ex-Student had specifically asked him to thank me, and thank Steve for “Our great sense of humour”…:D I do try. I really do..:)
